Product Description
2-Way Remote Learning Instructions - after you have programmed your DISH Network remote to control your equipment (in TV, DVD or AUX modes), you may find not all of the commands used by the equipment's original remote controls function as they expect. The learning function of the DISH Network remote control can support these commands. The remote control can learn commands in two ways: Hybrid Mode & Normal Mode

5 out of 5 stars Works perfectly   August 6, 2010

I have a number of these remotes and they work perfectly - as long as you follow the programming instructions (which is the case with most programmable products!!) The buttons have a very nice, and a much better feel to them than the remotes that come with the receivers. For $15, these are a heck of a great deal!

5 out of 5 stars Works as Advertised   July 20, 2010

I read all the reviews here and decided to buy this remote. I have a DVR612, but could find no references to this receiver in the manual (which I had to download fron Dishnetwork). The remote arrived, no instructions, batteries or anything. Just the remote in a plastic bag...Hmmmmm. Anyway, I proceeded to follow the instructions to change the remote's address to match my receiver. The receiver worked normally. Then, I entered the code for my Adcom tuner/preamp, not expecting it to work. I was right, it didn't. My next step was to have the new remote learn the buttons I use from the Adcom remote. The learning process was ambiguous, but it worked. The TV was a no-brainer. I just used the same code from the old remote - success. Lasat was my DVD player. The fourth code I tried worked. I'm happy!!!

Dish Networks instruction manuals leave a lot to be desired. Luckily, this project went alright, but in the past I've had to call Tech Support for other "simple" procedures.

All in all, everything went well.

5 out of 5 stars Great buy and excellent product   July 19, 2010
A discerning buyer
We have a third TV on one set top box for our dish, but we only received two remotes from the Dish company. I called the local Dish company and they wanted $39.99 plus tax for one remote, I went to the Dish website and found that the remotes they sell online also have very high shipping charges. This remote is exactly the same as the ones from the Dish company and it works perfectly. We did not receive instructions with the remote, but the instructions for programming are in the Dish instruction manual.

5 out of 5 stars This remote was a lifesaver!!!   June 29, 2010

I don't normally review products, but I HAD to with this one because there are so many mixed reviews on it. It was a lifesaver for us! We have a new Emerson LCD tv and we have tried the original Dish Network remote as well as numerous all in one remotes with no luck. This one programmed right away! This is a very common problem with the Emersons so if that's what you have, definitely buy this remote!!

I was searching for a duplicate remote for my Dish Network System and this remote is exactly what I wanted, it is identical to the OEM unit. This remote controls the 2nd tuner (UHF receiver). I had to experiment a little to get my original remote and the new one to both work, and after 10 minutes was successful by setting them to a new communication channel.
