Best invention ever August 30, 2010 aero ace (springfield, mo) I plugged it in, it worked perfectly, and I LOVE it! This thing has zero lag time and just plain works. After getting spoiled by my PS3 RF remote, I knew I had to duplicate this experience with my DVR and other components. I use this with my DVR universal remote and it works great.
Works like a charm August 26, 2010 Peter O. (Fort Lauderdale, FL) I wanted to run two HDTV's off of my comcast/motorola cable box. A 2nd digital high def cable box from comcast was going to cost $15/month plus. With this remote and an HDMI cable extension, I can watch High Def TV on my 2nd set with no problems.
I still can't figure out how this thing knows what buttons I am pushing on the remote keypad when all you do is replace a battery with the RF Transmitter. I can't fathom the connection between the keypad and battery compartment. But every single action on my remote works as if I was in the same room as the cable box. In fact, it is better than the original infrared remote signal. Sometimes the IR used to miss if I was sitting too far off center. Now the remote works every single time, no matter where I am in my home.
Amazing! Pays for itself in less than 3 months for my use.
Works great! August 23, 2010 Eric (Germansville, PA USA) Working perfectly with my components in my Harmony 550 Remote
We have extra speakers set up in rooms throughout the house. Before, when I wanted to adjust the volume in one of the other rooms, I had to run back and forth between the receiver and the room to get the volume right. Now I just take the Harmony remote with me and I can control the volume from anywhere in the house!
works great August 23, 2010 lori goodman (saunderstown, ri United States) This unit does what it says it does and works well.I recommend it-Although if you are using it w/ a receiver you will have to turn it off to use another remote to control it-
Seems to work fine August 18, 2010 Imyourmomma (new york, USA) The little UFO thing works great. The only problem I had was with the IR blaster. It didn't work right out of the box so I am returning it for a replacement. I tried different IR blasters I have, and those didn't work either.
I just don't want the UFO sitting on the side table in my living room, need to have it hidden. Can't do that without the remote IR. Overall four stars. I will give it one less star if I get another busted one.
P.S. I still can't figure out how this thing works by putting the battery in the remote. Maybe bleed off from the IR emitter on the remote? Don't know, but it does.
