Amazon.com Product Description Known as the DVR/PVR Specialist, One For All's URC 6131 remote control is an upgradeable universal remote capable of operating up to six devices at one time: TV, VCR, DVD, PVR, cable, satellite, and surround receiver or amplifier. A master-power key turns all devices on or off simultaneously. High-tech households will enjoy the remote's full DVR/PVR (digital video recorder) compatibility and support, as well as its handy picture-in-picture and surround sound selectors. The URC-6131 features intuitive, easy-to use buttons and color-coded keys for popular functions. The device requires two AA alkaline batteries (not included) and some simple programming. The remote is preprogrammed at the factory to operate an RCA TV, VCR, and satellite receiver, a Philips TiVo DVR, a Toshiba DVD player, and a Pioneer audio receiver/amplifier. To control devices other than the default brands, simply find the manufacturers in the provided code library and load them manually. Other features include direct code setup for easy device programming, step-and-set code setup and code verification (for an alternate way to program devices), and device key re-assignment to remotely control a second (duplicate) device. What's in the Box Remote control and a user's manual. Two AA batteries not included.

OBSOLETE...as others have pointed out. August 16, 2010 paindoc (San Francisco, CA) Bought via [...] for [...] shipping. Looks like I wasted a few bucks. The remote can't control my 3 year old Vizio LCD TV, my 2 year old Yamaha receiver or my 1 year old Samsung blu-ray player. It does work for my Motorola cable box, but my cable remote will, at least, also control my tv. Get something contemporary unless you have a bunch of 5 year old equipment.
Obselete remote control August 16, 2010 Weberson Tarcisio Pontes Bad idea when i decided to buy this remote control.I hadn't paid attention that the URC6131 doesn't have one of the most important feature i consider in a remote control: the ability to learn with new IR devices.
I have recently bought a Sony blueray and a yamaha receiver, and both of them didn't work with the URC6131. Only my 3 yr old LCD Philips TV worked. useless for me, since i have 3 equipments and still need 3 remote control. Waste of money!!!

To operate two or more components must hold on button for a long time to turn on and if you don't hold it long enough it will only turn off one component.
Does what it claims. March 28, 2010 Jeffrey925 (Montreal, QC) Setup took 10-15 minutes and this remote was able to replace the Bell Expressview remote at 1/6 the price. The only thing it is missing is the "interactive tv" button but we don't use that feature. Remote feels good in your hands.
Obsolete Universal Remote does not work with todays stuff January 13, 2010 digitalwebnet (Charlotte, North Carolina, USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This Universal Remote is obsolete with its codes working for products dated back to 2004 - 2005 won't work with later date stuff unless you mail to the manufacturer for program updates if they can do it - better to purchase a learning remote that can learn from your devices remote controls today and in the future!!! I felt I was scammed by the manufacturer - I cannot believe that the Federal Trade and BBB does not set standards to protect the consumers from such unethical business practices of selling remotes to the public that are obsolete and then expect customers to pay postage for having the remotes updated programmed for future devices. Do yourself a favor and get a learning universal remote instead!!!
